Translation Projects Anyone?
I’m curious what kinds of translation projects people here have been involved in.
Personally, I’ve always loved video games, music, and film, and I’ve always been grateful for the people who dedicate their time to translating media so others can experience it.
Japanese media is probably the most visible example in the West. Early anime communities, in particular, had incredibly dedicated fans who worked very hard to translate and subtitle shows so they could be shared with a wider audience.
But translation exists everywhere — in books, games, music, film, online communities, and so many other places.
Some projects are huge and professional, while others are small community efforts driven purely by passion.
So I’m curious:
Have you ever worked on a translation project?
It could be anything:
• Subtitling a video
• Translating song lyrics
• Localizing a game or mod
• Helping translate articles or stories
• Even just helping friends understand something in another language
Whether the project was big or small, I’d love to hear about it.
What kind of translation work have you been involved in?
